The developers are keenly aware of the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building standards and have elected to implement as many building features and design characteristics as possible which meet or exceed LEED standards.
Starting with the Capitol Club Tower’s location on the Rivertrail and proximity to Downtown and the CATA main bus station, it is easy to see that utilizing public, pedestrian, and bicycle transportation will be a breeze for the Capitol Club’s residents and users. Adequate bike storage, as well as changing rooms and showering facilities add to the Capitol Club’s value.
As an alternate to traditional gas or electric heating and cooling, the Capitol Club Tower will be heated and cooled through a centralized system provided by Lansing’s Board of Water and Light (BWL). We will take advantage BWL’s economies of scale so that there is less waste and increased efficiency. Air handling heat exchangers and thermostats in each home allows for maximum comfort with an eye on environmental friendliness.
Whether containing warmth inside on those colder winter days or allowing fresh air to circulate, only highly efficient windows and materials will be used in Capitol Club Tower. Insulation throughout the building will exceed building requirements and energy efficient lighting increases comfort while saving costs throughout the life of your home.
During the construction phase a concerted effort will be made to reduce waste and recycle construction by-products.
